• Use to remove and install the snap-ring on the long reverse piston and return spring, without removing the center shaft and clutch assembly from the transmission housing
• Services GM, Ford, Toyota and other vehicles
• Trans Clutch Spring Compressor

Instructions:

1.       Set-up

o   Remove the snap-ring & clutch pack from the drum

o   Install toolGÇÖs spring arm shoes in snap-ring groove that held the clutch pack in

o   Compressing the toolGÇÖs spring arms, install the tool

o   Set the toolGÇÖs pads on top of the return spring cage

o   Adjust the pads and lock in place by tightening the wing nuts

2.       Snap-ring Removal

o   Turn knob on top of tool clockwise, until the spring cage is compressed

DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN OR YOU WILL DAMAGE THE CAGE

o   Compress enough to create room to release the snap-ring

o   Remove snap-ring using snap-ring pliers

3.       Remove tool

o   Turn handle counter-clockwise

o   Compress spring arms to remove shoes from groove

o   Remove tool & lift off the clutch drum spring retainer

4.       Final Steps

o   Remove the return spring

o   Remove the parking pawl

o   Remove the long reverse piston              

5.       Snap-ring Installation

o   Reverse above steps
